Coronado is here and is set to make waves in the Australian
trucking industry. Australia waited for its release with much
anticipatation and excitement, and it has not disappointed. The tough,
"big rig" look, exceptional engineering, and parts of uncompromising
quality are exactly what drivers and operators have been asking for.
The Coronado is a versatile truck that can cover
so many applications - from line-haul and road train to local or
intrastate deliveries. It is the multi-purpose highway specialist that
is also tough enough to go off-road. For the toughest working
conditions, day in and out, the Coronado SD will get the job
done. From the tyres up, the Coronado SD has been built specially for
those "severe duty" jobs.
Coronado features include:
- Up to 600 hp with a choice of 2 heavy duty
6-cylinder engines with 8 power options: Detroit Diesel DD15 (with 500
hp, 530 hp and 560 hp options) or Cummins ISX engines (with 485
hp, 525
hp, and 600 hp options)
- A GVM of 24,000 kgs in the standard 6x4
configuration
- Giant grille that fronts a redesigned air
system to keep the engine cool
- Tough bonnet made from a single panel of
fiberglass which can be pushed hard and easily repaired if need be
- Easy access to engine with the bonnet's
built-in opening mechanism providing a 90 degree tilt
- A lightweight aluminium cab that exceeds the
stringent European crash-worthiness standard
- 5 variations of cabs, from a day cab to a
luxurious 58 inch raised roof sleeper
- Privacy curtains and noise abatement material
for sleeping comfort
- EzyRiderII air cushioned seats, ergonomically
designed dash, and optional Eaton AutoShift transmission with
SmartShift paddles for easy driving
Coronado SD features include:
- Up to 600 hp with a choice of 2 heavy duty

clean air for the engine on dusty work sites
- Meritor rear axles rated up to 23,580 kgs
- Driver controlled diff locks
- "Pillow block" front cab mounts to dampen shock
and vibration
- Traction control, optional Roll Stability
