Whitehorse welcomes new General Manager

We are pleased to announce the placement of John Legge to the position of General Manager. John is a well known face in the truck industry, and in particular here at Whitehorse. John was a leading sales executive here for over 10 years, beginning his tenure in 1991. He then continued his career in the industry, working for various other truck dealerships in Melbourne, and most recently was Operations Manager for Collex. John is a man with a vision, and plans to improve on the "great service Whitehorse built its reputation on". 

Drop in to Whitehorse and see John. As well as leading the Whitehorse team to greater success, he knows a thing or two about trucks and might even be able to set you up with a new one!

New Sales Executives complete the team

Whitehorse welcomes two new sales executives to New Trucks, Tyrone Edwards and Joel Saunders. 

Tyrone has had over 12 years experience helping customers choose the right truck. He has worked with various brands, giving him great all-round knowledge of trucks and their applications in the workplace. You won't find a more enthusiastic person to assist you through the process.

Joel joins us with extensive heavy machinery knowledge. He will be hitting the road and heading out to Melbourne's eastern suburbs and the Mornington Peninsula. Joel's professional manner and down to earth approach will make the process of 
choosing your truck a an easy one.

2010 International Truck, Trailer and Equipment Show

Over 35,000 visitors from around Australia and overseas were treated to a top quality display of road transport equipment last weekend in Melbourne. The innovation and outstanding quality of the displays this year lead many to comment that the show was on par with the style of simialr shows held in Europe. Trade visitors were able to explore all the latest designs from the industry in the one location, and with hundreds of trailer combinations on display, it was the largest dedicated road transport equipment show the country has ever staged.

Mercedes-Benz Australia showcased the super-efficient Mercedes-Benz Actros Safety Truck. The Actros was similar in specification to truck that garnered a place in the Guiness Book of Records as the most fuel efficient truck in the world.  Also on show was a 110-inch raised rood Freightliner Argosy, a Columbia CL112, a Sterling HX9500, and two Freightliner CST 120 Century Class 6x4 prime movers.  

Mercedes-Benz proudly took home the award for Best Industry Truck Display, holding onto the award they received when it was last presented at the 2008 show.  

Warragul Truck Show a hit 

The recent Trucks in Action show in Warragul was a great success with over 13,500 people in attendance. A huge array of trucks and civil works equipment was on show at this event, which is the only "working" truck show in the southern Hemisphere. The show has evolved over recent years to appeal to owner drivers and small fleet operators. Many exhibitors use this event as a chance to showcase their latest releases, making it an event well worth the visit.

Whitehorse was delighted to showcase the 600 HP Mercedes Benz Actros III equipt with the "safety pack". People were treated to a few laps around the test track with an experienced driver, allowing them to get a true feel for the power, comfort and safety offered only by Mercedes Benz. A big thanks to Jim from Seafirth for his driving expertise.

Competition Winner Announced
