When you buy a Mercedes-Benz Actros III, you can
rest assured driver safety is a paramount priority. The following
safety features are STANDARD
to the Mercedes-Benz Actros III:

following OPTIONS
are state-of-the art technology aimed to put drivers
in the safest seat possible. |
Telligent Lane Assistant
Lane departure warning device that alerts the
driver with an audible warning.
- Digital camera behind windscreen detects
vehicle position with respect to roadway markings (typically
line-markings)
- Sounds
an acoustic warning if the vehicle deviates over lane markings. Drivers
will hear a "rumble strip" sound from side deviation.
- Automatically ON upon vehicle start; manual
switch OFF
- Only active above 60km/h
- NOT
active when (yellow indicator lamp ON) lane markings are poorly
visible, the vehicle speed is below 60km/h, the directional indicator
in ON, and when the service brake is applied

Telligent
Proximity Control
Autonomous cruise control using a radar to detect traffic situation
ahead to adapt vehicle speed.
- Activated when cruise control speed is set
- ONLY active above 15km/h; can be switched ON or
OFF
- ONLY works for moving vehicles in front of truck
- Does NOT work for stationary vehicles or
obstacles
- Braking is limited to 2 m/s2 or about 20% of
the maximum deceleration
- A proximity warning will sound if more braking
power is needed by the driver
- The desired distance from the vehicle in front
can be adjusted using a rotary button on the right-hand stalk
- The automatic setting upon vehicle start is
approximately an interval of 2 seconds
- Telligent Proximity Controll DOES NOT make
automatic adjustment for changes in road or visibility conditions

Active Brake Assist
Active Brake Assist automatically initiates
emergency braking action and is a further development of Telligent
Proximity Control
- Automatic emergency braking in cases of an
acute risk of rear-end collision with vehicle travelling in front
- Depending on the time left, driver is warned in
stages:
- Visual warning indicator and then audible
warning
- Active Brake Assist automatic partial braking
(approximately 30% of max. braking power)
- Active Brake Assist emergency braking
(maximum 100% braking force)
- ONLY active above 15km/h
- ONLY works for vehicles moving in front of the
truck that are moving faster than 8km/h
- Does NOT work for stationary vehicles of
obstacles
- Automatically ON upon vehicle start; manual
switch OFF
